Savory Baked Sea Bass in 15 minutes

Saarah · January 9, 2024 ·

I know what you might be thinking, a savory sea bass in just 15 minutes? Yep! You read that right! This Sea Bass recipe is one of my favorites, not just for the taste, but for the minimal amount of cooking needed.

I personally plated it here with avocado, artichoke and onion salad, but you can plate it with any veggies you’d like (I always recommend greens).

Why Sea Bass?

One of my favorite fish to cook is Sea Bass. This is because Sea Bass is:

  • A good source of lean protein for your muscles. It’s especially good for anyone who is looking to get stronger.
  • It’s rich in minerals such as selenium, zinc, and phosphorus. These minerals are great for hair, skin, nails, gut health, immune health, thyroid and cellular function.
  • It’s high in Omega 3s. In our day-to-day, there are so many foods that are made with Omega 6s (which are essential for energy for the body). While Omega 6s are great for us, Omega 3s should be included in your diet to balance out the Omega 6s. Omega 3s are essential fats that are good for heart, brain and metabolism.
  • It’s really easy to cook.
  • Can be paired with many different types of side dishes OR be used in tacos.

How Do I Make It?

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 lbs of wild caught Sea Bass
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • 3 TBSP of Unsalted Butter
  • 1 TSP Sumac
  • 1 TSP Himalayan Sea Salt (you can add more to taste)
  • 1/2 TSP Garlic Powder (you can replace this with fresh crushed garlic)
  • 1/2 TSP Onion Powder
  • 1 TSP Parsley (fresh or dried)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit. (I baked mine in the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro).

Cut the fish in similar sizes. Take into account the thickness as well. If you can see here, the bottom part of the fish was much thicker than the top part, so I cut the thicker piece smaller, and the thinner piece larger.

Then smear the fish with a thin layer of Avocado oil. I personally like to use the one from either Chosen Foods or Primal Kitchen.

Then add the Himalayan sea salt, sumac, garlic powder, onion powder and parsley.

Then top it off with the sliced lemon wedges and butter.

Once the fish is prepped, put it in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Plate and then serve with your favorite greens.
