4 Ingredient Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Soy-Free Chocolate Cake
My name is Saarah and I am a chocoholic. Like seriously. I have to have chocolate once a day. But it’s from a plant, so it must be healthy, right?
There are so many health benefits from cocoa such as decreased cholesterol, improved blood vessel health, high in antioxidants, and much more. However finding the right chocolate that isn’t just going to clog up your arteries can sometimes be difficult to come by. Particularly when chocolate can be laced with so many additives, preservatives, and even waaaay too much sugar.
So I decided to go on a hunt for a recipe, and I found one. I made one slight change to it to ensure I knew what was going into it. This recipe is super simple, requires only 4 ingredients, and cooks quickly. Most of the time when I make this, I slice it up into cubes and put it in the fridge so that I can just eat a few cubes a day.
adapted from this recipe
4.5 oz. Cocoa Powder
4 Whole Eggs (preferably Organic, Pasture Raised)
1/2 cup Coconut Oil
3/4 cup Honey
Preheat the oven to 375F, and grease an 8″ or 9″ spring-form pan generously with Coconut Oil. Mix the ingredients together, and pour into pan. Cook for 22-25 minutes. Take out to cool (cool before serving or it just falls apart)
and then serve.
